The Masters project 'Visino (Vino Vision) - Designing Blue Decisions' is the development of a transformative method in the form of an interactive experience 'Wine-Tasting of Water Futures'.
Based on research into the potential impacts of changes in the water cycle, the method combines regenerative and systemic design approaches and long-term thinking. The aim is to strengthen the ability to make blue decisions.

Blue Decisions are located at different levels and form the overall picture on the way to managing global risks.
They are the strategic response and are defined as decisions that have multiple positive impacts on living systems.
Using the perspective and interconnectedness of water with its transformative power, the question "How are we connected through water and how do we use these connections to shape desirable futures?

At Visino, wine as a centuries-old cultural asset not only opens up a view of the past, the interconnectedness of decisions and the uncertainty of nature as a shaper of quality. But also risk scenarios and desirable future scenarios as part of the experience.
At Visino, wine becomes a sensual and culinary carrier of the future. Wine tasting becomes a transformative intervention that uses wine to open up new perspectives on global risks and aims to strengthen the ability of policy makers, companies and society to act.

Scenario videos and analogue materials accompany the experience and introduce the interactions, which are adapted depending on the target group and focus.

The Visino scenarios allow you to experience: "How can I be part of the solution to the problem?" under the approach: "What quality should my wine of the future have? Where and how can wine be grown in the future?"

The master project "Designing Blue Decisions" of the Strategic Design programme at the University of Applied Sciences Schwäbisch Gmünd is dedicated to the research and testing of design-based methods for participatory science communication in the field of water risks. Through extensive design research with methods such as a survey, observations, narrative interviews and testing, a strategic method based on regenerative and systemic design was developed to accompany the transformation towards a water-smart society.
The result is the methodology “Visino - Wine-Tasting of Futures: Turn Risk Zones into Blue Zones” with the mission “Designing Blue Decisions” to strengthen the ability to act for decision-makers at various levels in line with the vision of a “Blue Zone World”.
