How to communicate the changes with electronic patient file in Germany?

In the Communication Strategy course, we worked on identifying communication problems and developing strategic solutions. We chose ePA because we believe it needs more attention to contribute to the digital transformation of the healthcare sector.

The low uptake of electronic patient records (German ePA) in Germany is a pressing issue due to widespread privacy concerns among citizens and a lack of resources in the healthcare system. Despite the potential benefits in terms of healthcare efficiency and quality of care, many people are reluctant to share their health data in digital form. This reluctance leads to a lack of pressure on health insurers and doctors, who should support the ePA to maximise the benefits of this technology. It is therefore crucial to take citizens' privacy concerns seriously, while emphasising the benefits of the ePA for individual healthcare and the healthcare system as a whole, in order to increase the uptake and use of the ePA.
