Together into a cool future.

Deheat° Cool your City is an AI-based design concept for sustainable cooling. It allows the city and its citizens to experience possible futures and design their private and public spaces with the help of artificial intelligence.

Cities are particularly affected by the increasing number of hot days due to high levels of sealing and dense development, and therefore need not only heat protection measures but also cooling measures. DEHEAT° Cool your City is a cooling strategy that starts in private spaces, extends to public spaces, and connects and supports citizens and cities to build a cool future for the city together.
The Cooling Strategy provides not only information, but also concrete, tailor-made solutions to help citizens actively cool their city and contribute to a more sustainable urban environment.

In an immersive hub, the causes and positive visions for the future of a cool city can be experienced and shared. An interactive control panel, similar to a mixing console, allows citizens to create their own individual vision of the future using rotary controls.

Specific measures can be visualised by adapting controllers representing elements such as water, unsealing, facade design and fresh air corridors. For example, creating a green pond could reduce the temperature by 2°C, or planting trees could reduce the temperature by 3°C through evaporative cooling. These personal visions can be used for personal inspiration and shared with others for inspiration. Together, the images of desirable futures and possible actions change the view of the city, enabling people to see their own scope for action and urban planning measures.

The Cool Score is an evaluation system for the impact of an implemented measure.

DEHEAT° app
The DEHEAT° app is an effective planning tool for cooling measures for citizens and cities, supporting the design and management of individual, sustainable and financially affordable measures.
The app has two main features: the Cool Home Tool and the Cool City Tool. The Cool Home Tool allows citizens to assess the vulnerability of their own homes to urban heat islands. It analyses various aspects of the building, such as sealing, colour and materials, and offers solutions to improve the climate. In turn, the Cool City tool is used for public exchange. It is able to identify urban heat island hotspots at the urban planning level and propose appropriate measures. Both tools are designed to empower individuals and communities to take proactive measures to combat the urban heat island effect.

Cities are aware of the problem of the urban heat island effect and have set aside funds to address it, but citizens have not yet made sufficient use of them.

Once the measures have been planned using the Cool Home tool in the home and a project has been created, all the important information is documented in order to submit the funding application to the city. The city can view the applications on a separate platform and easily process them using an intuitive ticketing system. The city has an up-to-date overview of current plans and developments.

The Cool City tool consists of the Feed, which serves as a communication platform between citizens and between the city and its citizens. This is the place to share visions generated by the Immersive Hub, everyday problems faced by citizens, implemented measures, and wishes and suggestions. Citizens also have the opportunity to interact with other contributions through a rating and commenting system. The aim is to identify trends, interests and problem areas and communicate them to the city. An AI helps citizens highlight posts that apply to their specific circumstances. At the same time, the AI helps to summarise the feed for the city administration in a form that can be processed.
